Paterson Health and Social Care are recruiting experienced Support Workers in the Abingdon area, with a passion for working with adults with learning disabilities and autism.

If you are seeking a rewarding job, working within varied and diverse supported living settings, assisting with personal care, appointments, cleaning, laundry, cooking and more, then we would love to hear from you.

What skills and experience are we looking for in candidates?

  • Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism & complex needs

  • Minimum 12 months experience working with an agency or 6 months in a permanent role

  • Excellent communication and interpretational skills

  • Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Dedicated, honest and reliable

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities

  • Providing companionship and emotional support to clients

  • Daily tasks will often include personal care, meal preparation and manual handling

  • Accompanying clients to medical appointments and social outings

  • Monitor and report any changes in client's behaviour or health conditions

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress
