Agency Children's Support Worker – Leighton Buzzard.

Paterson Health and Social Care is a Healthcare agency offering zero-hour contracts and ad-hoc shifts, to fit around your other commitments.

We are recruiting experienced Children's Support Workers with a good knowledge and understanding of Autism and Learning Disabilities to support children in residential, educational & supported living services.

We are looking for individuals who want to make a real and positive impact on young people's lives, where every day is different.

We offer Earlies, Lates, Long Days, Nights and Sleep-Ins spread across a 7-day period.

Pay Rates: £11.00-£13.00 per hour PLUS HOLIDAY PAY.

As we are an agency, we offer a zero-hour, temporary contract. This is very flexible, so you can work around your other commitments.

Working as part of an established staff team supporting with:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with children in a residential or supported living setting.

  • A minimum of

    12 months experience working in a support worker role with an agency or 6 months as a permanent worker

  • An excellent understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Understand the importance of routines & sensory processing for individuals

  • Ability to offer a person-centred approach as outlined in individual care plans

  • Experience supporting people with additional / complex needs and challenging behaviours

  • Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Health & Social Care - desirable but not essential

  • Reliable, confident and honest

  • Knowledge of Safeguarding

  • Car driver desirable but not essential. Must be willing to travel

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to travel to the location within good time

  • Minimum of 6-12 months UK care experience that can be referenced

  • Authorisation to work in the UK.
