Job description

We are excited to be recruiting for our client the role of Technical Consultant within their Cranial Spine team.  You will be responsible for clinical implant support in operating theatres and the training of theatre staff.

Working in tandem with the Therapy Sales Specialists, you will have district coverage and will be required to develop strong relationships with customers. The role will require you to provide technical support, liaising between customers and cross functional internal teams.

This role will be Field Based, covering Ireland on a contract basis, initially for 11 months with the potential to be permanent.

The Technical Consultant role:-

  • Providing clinical implant support and training to the clinical team in theatre across the spinal procedures.
  • Responsible for territory case coverage and support of intraoperative sales
  • Provide troubleshooting support to field sales staff and customer on request
  • Plan and support clinical and technical training and education programs with review and input from Sales Manager and staff in the district as well as other functional groups
  • Participate in and support regional events such as Congresses or customer events.

The ideal Technical Consultant candidate will:

  • Have the ability to work in an operating room setting
  • Have the ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule
  • Degree in Engineering, Life-science, Marketing, business administration or Biology, Physiotherapy, Nursing or another relevant, advanced degree.
  • Previous training/education experience an advantage.
  • Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with sales force, physicians, nurses and hospital technicians.
  • Self-starter, with a positive can do attitude and is a team player.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and Influencing skills
  • Driving licence
  • Local language(s) and business English

In addition, ideally the Technical Consultant should have:

  • Experience in the medical device industry or in a hospital operation room environment, previous sales experience a strong plus.
  • Keen interest in technology.

Travel is required for this position.
