Agency Worker Regulations - AWR

Information for Hirers

The Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) became effective on October 1st 2011. Compliance with the Agency Workers Regulations is the joint responsibility of the agency (e.g. Paterson Health and Social Care) and the Hirer (the establishment using the Agency Worker).

The Paterson Group has invested heavily in new software which is designed to ensure that we are able to inform clients as Workers reach the 12 week qualifying week. In order that we have the information to enable us to do this, it is important that we receive the required information as soon as possible, if we haven’t already.

You will find attached a Request for Information Form, which should be completed for each grade and job role you employ and returned to a.edwards@paterson-healthcare.co.uk (PHC Operations Manager) at your earliest convenience.

Please also see below a link to some further information which explains the AWR and the associated requirements, which we hope will be of use.

If you have any queries regarding complying with AWR, we strongly advise you to seek guidance from your HR or Workforce Planning Department or an employment lawyer.

We would like to give you more information about the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) which  came into force in the United Kingdom from 1st October 2011. The AWR will accord “equal treatment” to Agency Workers in terms of basic employment and working conditions.

The Regulations apply to temporary workers who are engaged via recruitment agencies.

Paterson Health and Social Care have invested heavily in new systems to ensure the necessary evaluations and assessments of basic working and employment conditions are being completed for all our Agency Workers / contractors in line with the regulations coming into force.
